Purpose and Scope of the role

The position is a Counterparty Risk Data Analyst role within RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“RISK MFI”).

RISK MFI provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring.

The Counterparty Risk Data analyst belongs to the RISK MFI Digital team. The team oversees the development of tools to redefine and industrialise the many processes of the RISK Global Markets department. Projects have a strong focus on the use of new technologies to build tools that improve the risk management of the bank, with a strong focus on improving the user experience and making better use of the vast amount of available data.  

We are looking for a profile with some proven data analysis skills who has an appetite to simplify processes using technology, who can rapidly understand new market or counterparty risk concepts and metrics and provide quantitative or statistical analysis about a certain scope.

The role requires agility to onboard oneself onto new processes to support their evolution, and industrialisation.

The candidate needs to be comfortable working in “project mode” and regularly iterating improvements into the team’s assets.

Responsibilities of the Counterparty Risk Data Analyst role

  • Create dashboards and report and extracts and manipulate data into standardized or ad-hoc solutions.  
  • Support and monitor the usage of the data analysis tools provided to those clients.
  • Present results of own developments to the relevant clients.
  • Lead small projects to improve the efficiency and reliability of the clients’ processes.
  • Maintain simple and documented tools which can be easily handed over to other team members.

Skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Financial Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Sciences, Economics, Econometrics, Computation Sciences, or related discipline
  • 2 to 4 years of working or academical experience in data manipulation.
  • Proficiency with Python. An experience in other relevant technologies and computing languages a positive.
  • Relevant expertise in computing/data science techniques and technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in data visualization tools (Power BI or Flask) is a plus
