We are currently looking for an Operational Permanent Controller (All Genders) based in Porto

BE PART OF OUR DYNAMIC OPERATIONAL PERMANENT CONTROL (OPC) TEAM 

You will join the Operational Permanent Controller – France (OPC France) team who is in charge of supporting production teams in executing and formalizing first line of defense controls, especially the riskiest parts of processes, to certify and secure Data & Accounting operating tasks.

YOUR FUTURE MISSION IN THE OPC TEAM

As OPC – France, you will have several missions whose main objective is to guarantee that the set of controls deployed by Data & Accounting teams are compliant and in line with expectations of Finance Control teams (second line of defense). A good relationship with all stakeholders is key and necessary to avoid, anticipate and/or explain potential operational risks.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure that the French and IFRS France controls are produced and delivered in due time to Cardif Management and to Finance Control teams as well as in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards:  
  • Prepare and produce the quarterly synthesis of controls performed by Data & Accounting teams in France;
  • Guarantee the strict respect of the reporting deadlines.
  • Carry out analysis´ reviews to better understand and closely monitor the control process put in place in France. 
  • Assist and provide training sessions for the stakeholders involved;
  • Adapt the set of controls following norms, guidelines or process/business evolutions.
  • Ensure the go between with production and Finance Control teams.
  • Guarantee a continuous reporting and communication on your tasks and activities to your manager and team.

AS OUR NEW OPERATIONAL PERMANENT CONTROLLER YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Management, Accounting, Finance or any other related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting, Risk, Internal Control, Audit or Compliance, preferably in the Insurance sector;
  • Understanding of internal control frameworks, audit techniques and operational compliance applicable to your scope
  • Fluency in French and English (B2 level minimum).

In practice, your day-to-day

  • As a Senior Data Scientist in the Scoring Center team, you will undertake projects to build risk prediction models. Your main responsibilities will be: 
    1. As part of your modelling projects, you assess the needs expressed, define and propose the adapted deliverables and estimate their burden and time frame through an implementation plan that takes into account the challenges and constraints. You use statistical modelling methods (such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting…), analyze and explain the results;
    2. You lead the project, keep track of the schedule and support the implementation and monitoring of the tools issued;
    3. As part of the monitoring and optimization of the BNP Paribas Personal Finance score models, you participate in the monitoring campaigns of the scores: generation and analysis of monitoring results, diagnosis and action plan;
    4. You are also responsible for conducting or analyzing statistical studies related to risk prediction models. If necessary, you take part in analytical support missions to the Group’s international entities and in the processing of audit recommendations relating to the Basel regulatory project;
    5. In addition, you actively contribute to the transversal missions of the Scoring Center: technological and methodological watch, regulatory watch, training, analytical support for the Group’s international entities.

  • The Finance & Strategy function (F&S) ensures, for the BNP Paribas Group, the production and publication of accounting and financial management statements necessary for the management of the Group, financial and tax optimization along with the external growth strategy. It also plays an alert role vis-à-vis of the General Management
  • The Infinity EMEA Finance & Strategy Platform is the Regional EMEA Mutualized platform and Group platform delivering services that covers the whole financial dimension: Accounting production activities, reporting, control, transformation projects, IT and GDO. Your Main Activities Are

  • Sit with FIP staff and your colleagues from FIP Standards team and go through all the steps of the current process to get familiarized with the As-Is situation
  • Identity automation opportunities and draft the overall high-level design of an automated procedure that would be developed first by you and later by Finance IT
  • Implement the desired automated procedure with the inputs of FIP staff and deliver a working tool that the staff can use in waiting for the Finance IT solution (any solution can be used, including Power Query, Power BI, Knime, Alteryx, Python, Blue Prism, etc.)
  • Document the business rules agreed and implemented in the prototype and communicate them to Finance IT
  • Interact efficiently with Finance IT so that the tools developed by you can be industrialized by Finance IT
  • Coach FIP staff on using the prototype developed by you and other advanced desktop tools functions (excel, power query, power bi) so that they are more efficient in their day-to-day work

LA TUA FUTURA MISSIONE ALL’INTERNO DEL TEAM EWM COME OPERATORE AMMINISTRATIVO E/O MECCANICO FLUENTE IN ITALIANO:

Integrato in un call center con una dimensione umana, tra le sue funzioni, dovrai:

·       Informare/ dare istruzioni via telefono ai clienti beneficiari e ai distributori/ tecnici professionisti in caso di danni: passi da seguire, follow up sui file.

·       Analizzare le richieste di assistenza agli interventi delle officine (via telefono o via extranet) che includono:

ØVerifica della copertura del contratto.

ØVerifica di rilievo ed intervento.

ØVerifica dei preventivi – Costi di riparazione stimati

ØVerifica dell’adempimento delle condizioni contrattuali

·       Elaborare gli accordi corrispondenti (secondo le ripartizioni per livello)

·       Controllo e codifica delle fatture corrispondenti.

·       Realizzazione di controlli di fatturazione e di prassi dei nostri principali soci.

·       Valutare e gestire l’e-mail, la posta e le fatture.

·       Essere un rinforzo per gli altri dipartimenti e l’attività del servizio

COME NOSTRO NUOVO OPERATORE AMMINISTRATIVO E/O NUOVO MECCANICO FLUENTE IN ITALIANO – TEAM EWM, RICHIEDIAMO:

·       Conoscenze in ambito automobilistico;

·       Esperienza minima di due anni in un call center, preferibilmente nel settore automobilistico e assicurativo (preferibile);

About the job

The main mission of the Management Information (MI) teams is to provide General Management, Metiers, and the RISK Function with a global, independent view and analysis of key risks related to market, counterparty, liquidity, and equity risk. This supports optimal decision-making and contributes to group-wide internal and external disclosure. MI’s scope includes stress testing, regulatory and internal model capital production for market & counterparty risk and delivering forecasts and simulations in light of changing regulatory requirements.

  • The Group RISK MFI Management Information team comprises two main sub-teams:
    1. Management & Supervisory information
    2. Capital & Resources

Within BNPP Fortis these two sub-teams are combined in one team.

Your Main Activities Are

The BNPP Fortis team maintains the common Management Information frameworks, with de-centralised validation and analysis in Brussels tailored to local management and supervisory needs, along with specific responsibilities to contribute on local entity’s Stress Testing and Capital topics.

In addition, the BNPP Fortis MFI Platform MI team works closely together with the Group MFI Platform MI Capital and Resources team, with the BNPP Fortis team providing expertise on the local exposures. The set-up seeks efficiency gains in combining a centralised calculation (methodologies are (only once) developed centrally rolled out uniformly throughout the Group) with local BNPP Fortis expertise and validation on the portfolios but also on specific regulatory constraints.

Given the more plain vanilla nature of the Global Markets activities in BNPP Fortis, the team has automated a large part of the data collection process and linked it to dynamic reports (implementing data capturing automations in a Citizen Development environment and feeding the information into reporting tools (eg PowerBI)).

In this context the key responsibilities for the BNPP Fortis MFI platform MI role in Portugal include: 

  • Maintenance and further industrialisation of the automated data collection process. The BNPP Fortis MFI Platform MI analyst in Portugal will work closely together with the BNPP Fortis MFI Platform MI analysts in Brussels, who will provide the business knowledge on the local set-up.
  • Running – in close collaboration with the Group MFI MI PT team – the processes for which Group wide methodology is deployed:
    1. Counterparty credit risk stress tests: RWAs, GWWR
    2. Equity risk stress tests
    3. Market risk and CVA RWAs
    4. Counterparty Credit Risk RWAs
    5. Settlement Risk RWAs

Providing the data to the BNPP Fortis MFI Platform MI analysts in Brussels for analysis, validation and reporting (with and to local stakeholders).

  • Some of these reports currently run locally and hence the integration in the Group framework needs to be carefully planned and executed in order to avoid any disturbance in delivery and any quality regression. Given the nature of the portfolios, the local reports possibly include local specificities and additional granularity (e.g. for the counterparty credit risk stress tests).
  • Liaise between the Group MFI MI PT team and the BNPP Fortis team in Brussels on new group wide reports and methodology reviews (e.g. Basel 4 regulation).
  • Set-up and execution of control plans on data collection and reports:
    1. Report timely the KPIs/KRIs on the above reports.
    2. Organise the Business Management Committee that supervises the nearshored (from Brussels to Portugal) activities.

The role is ideal for collaborative individuals with strong technical skills (Python), financial risk interest and attention to detail. We offer a job that focuses on one of the domestic subsidiaries of a large international Group, allowing to learn and hone your skills and to work on multiple facets (capital, stress tests, risk analysis and synthesis) of a Risk Management function. The job also requires working closely together with the colleagues in Portugal and Brussels, acting as “bridge” between the Group RISK functions and local RISK function in Brussels.
