About the Team 

The Global Client Analytics (GCA) team is responsible for providing data, insights and analysis to Global Markets front office on client activity.  The team aims to build a solid database from various sources and develop analysis, reports and dashboards to provide valuable insight to the Front Office in a rapid, agile manner.  The team in Lisbon is comprised of 9 members. The consumers of this data and analysis are over 1000 global Front Office users including Sales, Trading, Research and Senior Management.  We are a global team, with presence in Europe, America, and Asia.

À la Direction des Gestion d’Actifs de BNP Paribas Cardif, l’objectif premier est le placement des primes des clients et des capitaux propres pour les faire fructifier.

Les équipes Middle Office Actifs (MOAC), garantissent la bonne exécution des opérations d’investissements / désinvestissements dans le périmètre des marchés domestiques – en France, en Italie et au Luxembourg (qu’il s’agisse d’opérations de toutes natures effectuées dans le cadre de la gestion des fonds en euros, ou qu’il s’agisse des unités de comptes), en s’appuyant sur une expertise et une exigence élevées sur la qualité des données, le pilotage des prestataires parties prenantes de la chaîne de valeur et en conformité avec les exigences réglementaires, et dans le souci des meilleures pratiques de maîtrise du risque.

VOTRE FUTURE MISSION AU SEIN DE L’ÉQUIPE MIDDLE OFFICE ACTIFS

En rejoignant notre équipe Middle Office Actifs, vous serez en charge des missions suivantes :

  • Etre responsable de la qualité des données du référentiel d’entreprise des données d’actifs, et plus particulièrement :
    • Garantir la correcte gestion des workflows de création des titres/tiers/portefeuilles dans le référentiel, dans le respect des demandes des clients internes ;
    • Garantir la collecte des données auprès de fournisseurs d’informations financières, et s’assurer de leur exhaustivité par rapport au périmètre confié ;
    • Contribuer à la complétion des données, dans le respect des nomenclatures et règles de gestion implémentées dans le référentiel ;
    • Contribuer à la mise à disposition des données auprès des applications ou processus clients dans les délais et la qualité convenus ;
    • Contribuer à la réalisation de reportings d’activités nécessaires au pilotage de l’activité et de la qualité des données
  • Contribuer à la remédiation et la correction des processus de qualité et d’intégrité des données :
    • Participer à la réalisation de contrôles sur la qualité et l’intégrité des données, conformément au plan de contrôle défini avec le management ;

  • The Cash Management Solutions Implementation Manager mission is to guarantee the delivery of Cash Management services to an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring E2E accountability for advisory, implementation, maintenance and support while protecting the interests of the client and the bank

About the job

  • The candidate will be part of Securities Lending operational teams (Agency Lending & Principal Lending) with a transversal role on the CSDR (Central Securities Depositary Regulation) new regulation
  • CSDR regulation entered into force in February 2022. All organizations have to be prepared for this new regulation to be able to manage the penalties (settlement discipline), the new buy-In process, to calibrate the Allocation/Confirmation solution, and to adapt the current organization & processes in order to control the impact as much as possible
  • The key mandate of this team will be to manage the CSDR penalties, in close cooperation with the MFS Settlement & collateral operational teams, and the Business
  • The Agency Securities Lending Operations group supports several functions: the post-trade activity (Settlements, Corporate Actions, Income, Billing, Reconciliation…) and Collateral Management (Mark to Market, Compliance/Eligibility checks, Transaction Management, and Margin Maintenance). Agency Lending acts as Agent between our Lenders (our Clients) and the Counterparts (our Borrowers). Power of Attorney is granted by Clients to allow us to manage the instructions on their accounts. Our Clients are mainly in Custody within BP2S
  • The Principal Lending Operations group supports the same operational functions as for Agency Lending. The main differences are that it is a proper business performed under the name of BNP Paribas Securities Services Paris, and that Principal Lending is borrowing & Lending Securities thought is own accounts (Agency Lending BP2S being one of counterpart)

Your Main Activities Are

  • Define the target processes to integrate, to analyze and to manage the penalties received from all the Custodians
  • Define the End-to-End process to manage the penalties: Settlement booking, internal reporting, Accounting process, Claim process, among others
  • Implement procedures that will explain all the operational aspects
  • Work actively with BCM and IT Teams on the solution and the deployment of IT to ensure consistency with our Target Operating Model. Close interaction with Custody/BSO teams on the target solutions
  • Define the role and responsibilities of this team with the Ops Management and the Ops teams
  • Recognize opportunities, recommend process improvements and implement proper solutions to gain efficiencies and ensure quality
  • Build a strong network within the MFSO/MFS community, especially with the Settlement and collateral teams, and share knowledge and experience. Strong interactions are also expected with Front-Office Team, Client Management Teams, and several BSO / Custody teams
  • Identify, escalate and assist in the strengthening and maintenance of the internal control framework. Implement risk process improvements related to department and team workflows
  • Define internal KPI and Reporting to give visibility to Management and Front-Office on the penalties, incidents, on-going actions, possible solutions, among others
  • Must be a source of propositions and work on problem solving
  • Main tasks of the COLLATERAL MANAGEMENT team which will affect the CSDR process:

– Monitoring exposures and day-to-day operations:

– Issue margin calls to brokers in order to prevent short balances

– Book collateral trades to cover exposures

– Follow the settlement of collateral trades in various market places

– Perform daily controls on the progress of the activity

  • Main tasks of the SETTLEMENT team which will affect the CSDR process:

– Follow up of transactions booked by the Front-Offices,

– Guarantee a smooth processing of Front Office operations in approximatively thirty market places

– Ensure the receipt / delivery of securities and cash for the Securities Lending activity by minimizing incidents within deadlines

– Have an in-depth knowledge of markets and financial products

– Ensure good working relations with the operational teams and the trading desk

– Guarantee the control of the risks related to this activity

  • The Profit and Loss (P&L) Controller will be in charge of producing and validating the daily and/or monthly Economical P&L and related P&L Explains. It will be required to establish effective working relationships with both Front Office and other areas of support (e.g. Back Office, Market Risk, Finance & IT). This will allow for an integrated and proactive approach to the business’ requirements.   • Produce and validate the official Economical P&L figures and the related P&L explains (market move, new deals, etc) and investigate the discrepancies with the Front Office Predict when available
  • Review the P&L Explain in depth and correct wrong effect if no technical solution can be found to overturn the misallocation
  • Review the Risk based market P&L and analyse differences against the P&L Explain until the gap is understood and documented
  • Review the split of the economic PNL in liquidity and rate effects for ALMT perimeters
  • Produce Hedge accounting controls for finance and FO where applicable

  • Within Finance & Strategy function, Finance Implementation Projects – FIP teams: Lead the end-to-end implementation of business and regulatory projects by responding to Business Line and Finance requirements; Contribute to transformation initiatives according to the Finance strategy; Implement and maintain a harmonized Finance operating model across BNP Paribas Group; Contribute to migration projects relying on the regional set up in Europe, Asia, and Americas; Collaborate with a FIP community worldwide, ensuring a consistent approach of the Finance projects across the geographies
  • FIP teams are composed by 5 teams: FIP Capital Market Products and FIP Banking Products are in charge to drive and deliver end-to-end business and regulatory projects by responding to Business Line and Finance requirements; FIP Standards defines standard guidance and methodology used during projects; FIP Regulatory coordinate regulatory evolutions, studying and defining standard solutions; FIP Change Management Office and Permanent Control is responsible for leading transformation on FIP Global (impacting Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, London and other networks in APAC and AMERICAS)
  • Your team, FIP Standards, are experts in charge of: Definition of the guidelines in project management methodology; Definition of standards linked to the data model of the general ledger, the data governance principles of the accounting interpreter, and their architecture; Definition of the training modules of the department ensuring their consistency with the training path; Definition of processes involved the project management methodology or support to the Finance users; Validation of main deliverables of projects teams in regards of standards; Identification and lead of continuous improvement; Communication and change management on processes requiring FIP Standards expertise
