  • The Trading Analyst ensures a smooth and accurate monitoring of the trading activity in the Trading books, to ensure a sustainable level of the Bank’s revenues. The Trading Analyst’s main mission is to become familiar with the trading environment and contribute gradually with tasks to the development of the Trading ecosystem, by improving the ability to read and analyze data quicker, increase the speed to process the routine (trading, booking, reporting, analyzing, etc…) and requests and to evolve in the tasks performed, by compressing the time spent on them via automation, decommissioning and/or delegation

Your Main Activities Are

  • Process substitutions with external counterparts / PBIL / XVA / Repo desk 
  • Following all trades through with settlements/funding team to reduce fails/CSDR charges. 
  • Trade booking 
  • Bond projections around upcoming shorts (so we can arrange cover) 
  • Efficiency monitoring around debt excess and collateral efficiency 
  • Help to utilise the unused inventory 
  • Enhance the current collateral projections with Lisbon team  
  • Provide collateral management and trading support to the desk in all the regions through inventory analytics while ensuring balance sheet efficiency and management of trading Pnl
  • Closely monitor the usage of cash borrowed from central treasury and work towards reducing the reliance on it
  • Monitor FRM traded positions for corporate actions, balance sheet inefficiencies and provide corresponding substitutes to resolve their inefficiencies 
  • Work with relevant teams outside the business to understand the impact of regulatory changes and come up with solutions to minimize the impact 
  • Collateral management (pledged vs eligible collateral) for all external counterparties and tracking utilization of long box; managing T+0 settlement issues & triparty collateral platform.

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Master`s Degree in Finance or Engineering
  • At least 1 year of experience in Trading and/or Risk Management

About the job 
The OPC analyst plays a key role in Global Banking CCCO(Chief Conduct and Control Officer) Office Front-to-Ops missions and worldwide mandate to identify and assess non-financial risks, to ensure the enforcement and efficiency of the control framework and to promote an adequate risk management culture. The Analyst contributes to Global Banking CCCO leading the Front-to-Operations to IT alignment for Global Banking across the three regions to strengthen and industrialize GB non-financial risk management set-up, anticipate regulators’ expectations and protect the interests of the Bank’ stakeholders. 
Specifically, the OPC(Operational and Permanent Control) Analyst operates the Control framework relating to all operational risks, including Fraud, Third Party, Conduct, Compliance, Regulatory, Information & Communication Technology risks, and others risks types.

 Your Main Activities Are 

  • Performing/driving the risk identification and assessment in liaison with independent control Functions when needed 
  • Ensuring validation by the relevant management level and consistency with the defined risk tolerance. 
  • Contributing to the definition and follow-up of remediation plan if needed
  • Centralize and automate the production of reports gathering major operational risks indicators via automated KPI/KRI dashboards

  • Follow-up and /or initiate the implementation of remediation actions and the unfolding of long-term incidents. 
  • Perform controls on the incident collection process, particularly the cross-check with other databases and the half-yearly attestation by the local management.
  • Alert and escalate to the relevant level of management any operational risk incident and any recurring weakness. 
  • Perform periodic and ad-hoc reporting to the appropriate level of management as well as to independent control functions

The global Operational Resilience program is a critical component in ensuring the Group’s ability to anticipate, prevent, detect, withstand, recover, and learn from operational disruptions that impact the delivery of vital services. This applies to cyber, technology, third parties, physical infrastructures, and people.

While Operational Resilience is the holistic approach to make vital services resilient, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) focusses on the “Digital/ICT Risk” aspects of Operational Resilience.

As a Digital Operational Resilience Risk Officer, the individual will support the Global Lead of Business & IT Continuity and Third-Party technology Risk in the development and deployment of the wider Operational Resilience framework and governance from a Second Line of Defense (2LoD) perspective. The role will be focused on Operational Resilience Subject matter expertise on delivery of team objectives and has a wide variety of subjects such as DORA, IT Resilience, Business Continuity and Third-party technology risk management. 

The role also involves interactions within other RISK function teams such as Crisis Management, Entities Operational Risk Officers, and First Line of Defence (1LoD) operations. The role will be focusing on working with a broad set of stakeholders at the Group and Entities levels, making sure we have the capability to withstand incidents and still maintain our vital services.

The Digital Operational Resilience Risk Officer reports directly to the Operational Resilience Team Leader in the Global ORM Iberian Centre of Excellence and functionally to the manager located in Paris.

Your Main Activities Are

The role is key within the RISK ORM Operational Resilience team as it will contribute to the design, delivery and testing of Operational resilience 2LoD approach and framework on following missions: 

1.  Support the Global Head of RISM ORM OpRes – Business & IT Continuity and Third-Party Technology Risk in oversight of Digital Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Third-Party Technology Risk Management to the senior stakeholders across the Group.

2.  Provide a 2LoD Subject Matter Expert (SME) opinion on many projects for other teams and Senior management of the Bank.

3.  Play an active role in the day-to-day management of the communities comprising of cross functional stakeholders such as IT Group, incl. IT continuity & IT resilience teams, CISO teams, Third-party risk management teams, Operational resilience managers, vital service owners, etc. 

4.  Perform quality assurance and independent testing on Operational Resilience along with the development and maintenance of procedures, artifacts, and metrics to be used.

5.  Actively advise Business and IT teams on the remediation actions for identified risks on Operational Resilience (incl. regulators recommendations and actions plans)

6.  Conduct Operational Resilience (incl. business Continuity, IT resilience and third-party technology) risk assessments of the Group and Entities, as well as of critical third parties including advising management on how to mitigate any identified risk.

7.  Support other 2LoD teams in identifying resilience gaps in processes, controls and in remediating these.

Your Main Activities Are

As ICT Operational Risk Officer, the candidate will be responsible to contribute to the following topics:

Framework: to assist in the review, analysis and challenge of the ICT risk management framework, and particularly the norms & standards, consistent with RISK ORM guidelines, and validate any exemption to these norms & standards, namely in the ICT Risk and Control plans definition.

Risk Identification & Assessment: to challenge and verify the first line of defence (1LoD) risk identification, ensure the consistency of potential incidents quantification, conduct independent ICT risk assessments (incident review, post mortem analysis), and validate closure of permanent control actions (controls implemented by 1LoD).

Risk Decision & Treatment: to assist in the supervision of the risk treatment process (risk acceptance, risk transfer, risk remediation) performed by the BNP Paribas Entities and their Departments and/or to produce opinions on the ICT risk exposure with RISK ORM and 1LoD Management. To oversee the definition of the risk mitigation action plans and the implementation of the correlated recommendations.

Control testing: to conduct independent testing and challenge 1LoD (IT and operations) controls and oversee/perform 2LOD tests/vulnerability scans when required.

Risk management planning: to assist in the identification of the main ICT risks priorities, clarify/ define the approach to perform the work aligned with BNP Paribas framework, manage relationships with stakeholders, and ensure the completion of deliverables as agreed.

Risk Reporting, Monitoring & Alert: to support BNP Paribas Management and the RISK stakeholders on incidents and crisis management (e.g. security events, data leakage); to alert on critical points for attention to be raised to RISK Management.

Profile and Skills to Success

The successful candidate will need to have previous experience in implementing risk management programs and/or working in an internal/external ICT assessment function within a reputed consultancy/global organisation, with robust knowledge of technology, risks, architectures and related tools. Prior ICT risk experience (IT, Cyber, Vendor management etc.), exposure to the Financial Services industry, experience with GRC tools and other risk management information systems is preferred.  

Negotiation, conflict management and presentation skills are necessary. The individual will assist in the preparation/contribution to the development of BNP Paribas RISK ORM ICT independent testing controls and conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessment independent re-testing and validation on 1LoD set up and performed controls. Experience interacting with regulatory agencies is a plus.

COMPETENCIES

•    Good knowledge of ICT risks, IT Control, Information Security, Business Continuity, IT operations and IT Audit and assessment methodologies and concepts

•    Experience working with ICT risks, business continuity, IT Management and operations, IT risk and IT audit teams

•    Ability to articulate risk management concepts in business language

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

•    Prior experience documenting tool requirements to support risk management

•    Proven ability to manage issues through to resolution; skilled at making judgement calls

•    Ability to successfully multitask and complete difficult assignments within deadlines which may have short lead times

•    Industry certifications (e.g. CISA, CRISK, COBIT) or willingness to obtain the same

•    Works iteratively, delivering quickly and frequently to produce high quality documents and outputs which require little to no rework

•    Multilingual capability (English is essential, French is preferred, other language is a plus)
