RISK Market & Financial Institutions (“MFI”) provides the Senior Management of the Group, of the RISK Function and of Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) with full transparency and dynamic analysis and monitoring of market, counterparty, liquidity risks originated and managed by CIB GM and of credit risks on Financial Institutions to assist them in their risk decision making and monitoring. 

The RISK MFI Valuation Model Risk Team is the RISK team responsible for the second line of defence on valuation models within Global Markets. This therefore includes independent review and control of all models used for the generation of official daily P&L and risks. The team furthermore acts as a centre of quantitative expertise within RISK MFI.

Your Main Activities Are

  • Develop, maintain alternative/challenger models on Rates and FX asset classes in a dedicated library.
  • Develop an understanding of the interaction between the models, the market, the products.
  • Develop knowledge of BNP Paribas internal systems (risks monitoring, booking system, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of IT tools and model performance metrics defined by other team members.
  • Provides support to senior quantitative analysts within the team in the preparation of meetings, committees, or ad-hoc analysis.
  • Collaborate with other team members of RISK MFI VMR to achieve the goals of the organization on automation, regulatory topics or risk management.

Profile and Skills to Success

  • Strong quantitative skills (mathematics, statistics, probability)
  • Programming ability (in any of the following languages: Python, C++, C, Java)
  • Ability to express oral and written message effectively in a clear, structured, accurate and concise manner, based on facts
  • Motivation to collaborate and share ideas and knowledge with team member
  • Active in suggesting ideas and improvements and demonstrating curiosity. Open to new technologies
  • Ability to ensure the precision, accuracy and thoroughness of the information manipulated or delivered.
  • Relevant studies in a quantitative based subject such as Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Sciences, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Useful to have foundational knowledge of quantitative finance, options pricing and derivatives (products and markets)
  • Experience in data analysis tools (e.g. Python, R, Excel)
  • English Fluency
